Lead Data Scientist, Support (GenAI)
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Lead Data Scientist to join our Support Group at Wolt. This team is responsible for developing our in-house customer service tools, including support chat, operational tools for support agents, and self-service automation. We see significant opportunities to apply machine learning and AI in this domain, and we are strengthening our data science team to capitalize on these opportunities.
Responsibilities
As the Lead Data Scientist, you will:
- Lead a small team of data scientists embedded in cross-functional development teams, working closely with engineers, designers, and product and analytics professionals.
- Scale Data Science as a function and take exceptional care of your team members.
- Work hands-on with Machine Learning and AI use cases, owning projects from ideation to implementation.
- Facilitate the future of Data Science at Wolt by hiring new team members, enhancing Data Science practices across the company, and helping the organization understand the potential of Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to set the data science vision and direction for the group.
Requirements
- Proven experience in building Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI solutions with measurable impact.
- Strong understanding of building data products and a deep care for the end-user experience.
- Experience with real-time applications and large-scale deployments.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in leading technical Data Science teams.
- Deep understanding of Machine Learning, AI, and Statistics, with experience in NLP.
- Interest in LLMs and GenAI and their applications in production.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Location
This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Berlin, Helsinki, or Stockholm, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden, Germany, and Estonia. We also offer relocation support to help you move to Finland, Germany, or Sweden if needed.
