Join Bolt as a Data Scientist, Delivery
Bolt is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to enhance our Bolt Food delivery process. As a rapidly growing tech company in Europe and Africa, Bolt serves over 150 million customers across 50+ countries. About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Develop models to estimate food preparation times at various stages of the order process.
- Create complex demand forecasting pipelines for Bolt Market dark stores.
- Conduct simulations to assess the impact of market conditions on business metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers, to understand business needs and deliver end-to-end technical solutions.
- Deploy and validate solutions for millions of users, ensuring fast feedback and measurable value.
- Utilize AWS and internal machine learning platforms for rapid model deployment, using tools like Python, Spark, Presto, Docker, SageMaker, and Airflow.
- Engage in knowledge exchange with Data Scientists across all levels to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Solve real-world problems in areas such as ranking, textual search, recommendation, user clustering, pricing, delivery time estimation, dispatching, and demand/supply balancing.
- Apply advanced techniques like deep learning, gradient boosting, causal inference, mathematical optimization, dimensionality reduction, and time series forecasting.
About You
- You have 3 years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, preferably in product development within a tech company.
- Proficient in Python programming, with experience in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and OR-tools.
- Skilled in statistical hypothesis testing.
- Proactive and able to work independently, with a strong ability to collaborate across product, analytics, and engineering teams.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in English.
- Experience in building ML systems from end to end, including testing, monitoring, scaling, and impact measurement.
- Bonus points for experience in product development, familiarity with cloud systems, or experience with regression tasks and complex experimentation.
