Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our AdTech engineering team at Wolt. This role is pivotal as the AdTech team, established over a year ago, is tasked with transforming Wolt into a prime destination for advertisers. Our goal is to connect brands and merchants with a highly engaged audience through innovative advertising solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize the performance of our ad server.
- Design and implement new ad management UIs for our merchants and brands.
- Ensure the relevance and quality of our ads.
- Efficiently manage and query ad performance data.
You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers, fostering a culture of freedom and accountability. This role allows for significant ownership over projects, from conception through to execution.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in backend development, particularly with Python or JVM languages like Kotlin.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes for CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB.

- Strong ownership and a drive to take initiative beyond the obvious.
- Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively across teams.
Location
This role is available in our tech hubs in Helsinki, Berlin, or Stockholm, with remote work options available.
