About the Role
PhysicsX is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in the New York City Metropolitan Area. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work closely with our simulation engineers, machine learning engineers, and customers to develop innovative models that predict the behavior of physical systems. You will leverage state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning techniques to solve complex physics and engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with simulation engineers and customers to understand the physics and engineering challenges we are addressing.
- Develop and implement machine learning models to predict the behavior of physical systems.
- Own the delivery of data science workstreams, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and easily deployable.
- Design, build, and test data pipelines for machine learning applications.
- Communicate results and implications of your work with colleagues and customers.
- Contribute to internal R&D and product development efforts.
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for using machine learning, especially deep learning and probabilistic methods, in science and engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly analyze issues and recommend solutions.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Degree in computer science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience building machine learning models and pipelines in Python, using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including versioning, testing, and deployment.
- Experience working in a cloud environment with major cloud providers is appreciated but not required.
