About the Role
As an Engineering Manager at Runway, you will lead a new team focused on productionizing new ML-based features to enhance Runway's suite of creative tools. This role requires a blend of leadership and technical expertise in machine learning and systems design. You will be responsible for growing a high-performing engineering team and pushing the boundaries of AI-based content creation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a talented machine learning team.
- Collaborate with leadership and the engineering team to set and review priorities and goals.
- Build a diverse team of skilled engineers.
- Design, implement, and improve large-scale distributed machine learning systems.
- Rapidly prototype solutions and iterate on them to meet tight product deadlines.
What You'll Need
- 2+ years of experience in a team lead or engineering manager role.
- 4+ years of industry experience in an engineering and/or research role.
- Expertise in at least one machine learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Strong background in building impactful and novel machine learning projects.
- Empathetic and inclusive leadership style.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
