About The Team
The Intelligence and Investigations (I2) team at OpenAI is dedicated to rapidly detecting and disrupting abuse in AI and generative AI technologies to ensure their safe use. Our mission is to identify emerging abuse trends, analyze risks, and collaborate with internal partners to implement effective mitigation strategies. This effort contributes to OpenAI’s overarching goal of developing AI that benefits humanity.
About The Role
As a Program Manager focusing on the safety offerings of the I2 team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and expanding our AI safety intelligence services. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of solutions that monitor, detect, and mitigate AI abuse. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and client success, to ensure that our products and services meet market needs and provide unparalleled safety insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the program safety roadmap of I2.
- Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to develop and enhance safety monitoring, assessment, and intelligence products and services.
- Engage with clients to gather feedback, understand their needs, and tailor solutions to address specific AI safety challenges.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product and services improvement and innovation.
- Ensure that safety offerings comply with relevant regulations and industry standards for AI safety.
- Communicate program vision and strategy to stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners.
Ideal Candidate
- Background in program management, with experience in AI technologies, AI safety, or related fields.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and distill findings into actionable insights.
- Understanding of AI and generative AI technologies, as well as industry best practices for safety and security.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Thrive in collaborative environments and work effectively with diverse teams.
- Committed to safety principles with a passion for advancing the responsible use of AI.
Location
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
