Senior Backend Engineer

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team at Replo, focusing on the system architecture behind our most popular products. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing robust backend systems using TypeScript/Node.js.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Implement Backend Systems: You will be responsible for architecting and implementing backend systems primarily in TypeScript/Node.js. This includes designing and building an ingestion pipeline for Replo page analytics, developing an A-B testing platform, and enhancing our CI platform for improved stability.
• Deploy Multi-Tenant Applications: Deploy a multi-tenant NextJS app to render pages on Cloudflare, ensuring automatic revalidation in response to queued webhook handlers.
• Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting best practices in software development.

What We Are Looking For

• Hybrid Work Capability: Ability to work in a hybrid model in San Francisco.
• Deep Knowledge in Distributed Systems: Expertise in load balancers, databases, queuing, caching, HTTP, APIs, high-availability, and fault tolerance.
• Full-Stack Flexibility: Willingness to engage in full-stack work, including frontend tasks.
• Proficiency in TypeScript: Strong skills in TypeScript, with a willingness to learn if your background is in Python/Go/Java.
• Product and Customer Focus: A mindset that prioritizes product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Experience with Deployment and Maintenance: Familiarity with deployment challenges and a strong opinion on backend system architecture.
• Clean Code Advocate: Commitment to writing clean, maintainable software, including comprehensive documentation.
• Comfort with Ambiguity: Ability to define software architecture patterns to address customer pain points.

• Entrepreneurial Experience: Experience in starting a company or working at an early-stage startup.
• Hackathon Enthusiast: Enjoyment of hackathons and rapid prototyping.
• Design Skills: An eye for visual design or experience with product design tools like Figma.

Compensation and Benefits
