The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CloudOps Engineer to join our team at Green Thumb Industries, a leader in the cannabis industry. This role is crucial for accelerating the development and certification of state-of-the-art web and mobile eCommerce applications across various business lines including retail delivery, wholesale B2B, and consumer packaged goods.
Responsibilities
- Lead Automation Initiatives: Spearhead the automation of cloud environment provisioning using tools like Terraform, Chef, and Puppet.
- Research and Development: Conduct research and develop high-quality automation workflows for our cloud platforms, tailored to our business and ecological technology strategies.
- Collaboration and Strategy: Work closely with teams to strategize, consult, and prototype, promoting best practices and innovative solutions within the CI/CD pipeline and cloud framework.
- Technology Advocacy: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and architectures, advocating for their integration into current and future projects.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans that align with 24/7 uptime requirements, ensuring systems are robust, scalable, and resilient.
- Preventative Measures: Craft preventative automation and standards to mitigate production infrastructure incidents.
- Monitoring and Compliance: Implement monitoring tools and develop compliance automation and policy-as-code to ensure efficient cloud governance.
- Customer Service Excellence: Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers, aiming for excellence in service.
- Project Management: Manage conflicts involving timelines, budgets, and project scope autonomously, escalating complex issues when necessary.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of cloud technology experience with a preference for AWS associate certification.
- Proficient in IaaS and PaaS services on AWS/GCP.
- Well-versed in Infrastructure-as-Code and associated technologies (e.g., repos, pipelines, Terraform).
- Skilled in using application monitoring tools like DataDog or Dynatrace.
- Background in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
