About the Role
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Gremlin, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the reliability of the internet by developing advanced Chaos Engineering tools. This position allows you to leverage your extensive experience in Java and other technologies to influence product design and tackle complex technical challenges that have a direct impact on our customers, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to smaller enterprises.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design and develop cutting-edge Chaos Engineering tools.
- Utilize strong collaboration and communication skills to deliver new features within a remote work culture.
- Partner with product and other business units to understand business problems and present technical solutions and tradeoffs.
- Actively mentor and grow your teammates, fostering an environment of learning and development.
- Prioritize customer experience in all aspects of your work.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Java software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Go & Systems Level Programming.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Lambda, and Serverless. Familiarity with other cloud platforms like Google and Oracle is also valuable.
- Knowledge of DynamoDB and/or other NoSQL databases or major relational databases.
- Experience with infrastructure & systems level technologies like Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Strong advocate and practitioner of automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
Bonus Experience
- Experience being on-call and participating in an incident management program.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks & web development practices such as React and TypeScript.
- Proven track record of taking features from concept to full production release.
