About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data Platform team at Zettle by PayPal. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining large-scale data pipelines that empower our teams to make data-driven decisions. You will be part of a diverse team that collaborates across regions to provide the best platform for data collection, enrichment, and exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Maintain Data Pipelines: You will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines on the Google Cloud Platform, ensuring high-quality data delivery to users within the company.
- Data Modeling: Ensure that data is clean, accurate, and updated in a timely manner, making it accessible to all teams at Zettle.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with team members, sharing knowledge and expertise while respecting team decisions. Engage in team activities, including fun sessions like playing OpenRA.
Required Skills and Experience
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java, Python, and Kotlin.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS.
- Data Processing Frameworks: Familiarity with Apache Beam and Spark.
- Workflow Management: Experience with Airflow or similar platforms.
- Infrastructure as Code: Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure management.
- Database Management: Strong skills in SQL and analytical databases such as BigQuery.
Work Environment
Our balanced hybrid work model offers the flexibility of working 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
