About the Role
As a Software Engineer in ZEOS Logistics at Zalando, you will be part of a dynamic team that develops and operates business-critical applications. These applications are essential for our partners and internal stakeholders, processing tens of thousands of events per second and powering critical backend APIs and web applications in the partner fulfilment domain.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain large-scale data streaming and processing applications.
- Ensure these applications meet the latency requirements of tens of milliseconds to provide real-time data to Zalando partners.
- Utilize a variety of technologies including Java, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch.
- Adopt a "You build it, you run it" approach, managing services end-to-end from development to deployment, monitoring, and incident support.
What We Look For
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, specifically in developing APIs and high-volume data streaming and processing systems.
- Proficiency in Java or Kotlin and experience with SQL storage technologies.
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch is preferred.
- Experience in an agile, cross-functional team environment, with effective communication and collaboration with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering peers.
