Join Zalando as a Data Engineer
Zalando’s Economics & Experimentation department is seeking a Data Engineer to enhance our Experimentation Platform. This role is pivotal in scaling our platform to meet evolving business needs and supports our mission of establishing a robust experimentation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, product analysts, and applied scientists to understand data requirements.
- Design and build scalable data pipelines for data analysis, cleaning, transformation, and monitoring.
- Develop efficient and reliable data pipelines at scale.
- Enable accurate metric definitions and aggregations for interpreting experimental results.
- Document workflow designs and configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and best practice sharing.
- Promote a culture of experimentation by supporting data-driven decision-making with high-quality metrics.
What We’re Looking For
- Proficiency in engineering best practices and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and transformation techniques.
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Spark; Databricks experience is a plus.
- Solid programming skills in Python and strong SQL knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and workflow tools like Airflow; GCP experience is a plus.
- Experience with experimentation platforms or methodologies is a plus.
