The Role
As a Senior Data Platform Engineer at Halcyon, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our cloud-based data platforms. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure that supports our cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.
Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Lead the design and implementation of new features for our data platforms, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our products.
- Developer Experience: Enhance the developer experience within our team, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Collaboration with Product Teams: Work closely with product managers to align platform capabilities with business goals.
- Interface with API and Applications Teams: Ensure seamless integration between the data platform and other cloud applications, enhancing overall system efficiency.
- Team Building and Expansion: Drive the recruitment and development of the data platform team, promoting a culture of innovation.
- Code Quality: Uphold high standards for code quality and documentation, setting benchmarks for the team.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Continuously explore new technologies and methodologies to enhance the platform's capabilities and performance.
- System Reliability: Monitor and maintain the reliability of the data platform, promptly addressing any issues to minimize downtime.
Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive experience in building and managing data processing platforms using modern programming languages and tools.
- Proficient in working with various databases and data stores, and experienced in streaming data processing.
- Skilled in deploying infrastructure and applications on AWS, and familiar with Kubernetes and Helm.
- Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with other engineering teams on integration and architectural designs.
