Overview
Abnormal Security is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Platform Team. This role is pivotal in enabling efficient, reliable, and scalable data processing across both real-time and offline processing systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will empower the rest of the engineering team to combat cybercrime as we expand our offerings across various clouds and regions.
Responsibilities
- Scale and optimize our use of online datastores in critical services.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D teams to identify scalability gaps in their data-intensive systems and execute plans to mitigate them.
- Define and deliver our data platform offerings across AWS and Azure, enhancing internal engineering capabilities.
- Optimize the performance of offline data processing systems using technologies like Spark and Databricks to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data-intensive applications and distributed systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Golang, or similar languages.
- Expertise in key areas of the Data Platform tech stack, including relational databases, key-value/document datastores, caches, Kafka, and Spark.
- Excellent ability to onboard and mentor other engineers.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or similar public commercial clouds.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $175,800—$206,000 USD annually.
