Additionally, it offers solutions for workers to manage timecards, track pay, and onboard onto new projects seamlessly.
About The Role
Our client is searching for a Senior Platform Engineer I to contribute to building a leading technology company. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team to enhance internal developer and data platforms, working closely with product, security, and analytics engineers.
The Platform Group's focus is on ensuring the stability, security, reliability, and performance of the hiring company's product offerings.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new tools for automating software release processes.
- Enhance system monitoring by identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
- Collaborate with platform engineers, product developers, and analytics teams to address performance and scalability challenges.
- Plan the expansion of the company's infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotation to address incidents impacting availability.
- Utilize on-call shifts to prevent incident recurrences.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies like virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing.
- Experience with Kubernetes and running scalable applications.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems and networking principles.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools.
- Experience in handling critical incidents for production systems and collaborating with engineering teams.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash (Go experience is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with RDMS like PostgreSQL and document-oriented databases like Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of data warehousing tools, techniques, and practices.
