Bitwarden is seeking a talented Senior Front-End Engineer to join our Tools team. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining core areas of our codebase, enabling the development of secure, performant, and user-focused software. As a senior engineer, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of key product areas, providing direction for future changes and scoping out work to bring exciting new features to our users while maintaining overall code quality and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert on Bitwarden's core front-end codebase, including our web client, desktop client, and browser extension.
• Participate in hands-on development of new features.
• Work on reports, localization, generators, or file import/export functionality, among other tasks.
• Actively engage with other teams to ensure our core code supports new features.
• Participate in code reviews, learning and spreading technical knowledge.
• Independently plan, estimate, and deliver new work and bug fixes.
• Occasionally contribute bug fixes submitted by the user community.

What You Bring to Bitwarden

• Demonstrated expertise in building complex Angular applications.
• Experience with reactive programming using RxJS or similar libraries.
• Experience with front-end state management systems.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS for component styling.
• Collaborative and adaptable mindset.
• Openness and authenticity combined with excellent communication skills.
• Excitement and enthusiasm for open source and better internet security.
• Excellent problem-solving skills – you might not know all the answers, but you know how to find and communicate the solution.
• Familiarity with concepts of modern encryption is a plus.

Compensation

In the United States, the starting base compensation range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, relevant experience, and skill set as assessed in the interview process, as well as market data by location.
