Job Overview
Meight, a seed-stage tech startup based in Portugal, is seeking a talented and ambitious Senior Frontend Engineer. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining end-to-end solutions that meet our business needs. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute an execution plan for specific features or internal system maintenance/upgrade.
- Actively participate in engineering efforts that help streamline the experience of our product.
- Support the work of peers by pair programming, reviewing, and providing mentoring.
- Adjust well to shifting priorities when necessary.
- Strive to reduce technical debt, while communicating with teammates about any larger refactor.
- Work to understand the purpose of the features the team is working on, and help communicate that purpose to team members.
- Engage with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather comprehensive project requirements.
- Establish iterative feedback loops with product managers and designers throughout the design and development process.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Lead open discussions and Q&A sessions to address any uncertainties or questions team members may have about technical aspects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and HTML.
- Proficiency in at least one web framework (React, Vue, etc.).
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience debugging performance issues.
- Experience architecting and maintaining tech debt in web apps.
- Experience as a Software Engineer in a cross-functional product team.
