About the Role
As a Frontend Engineer at OLX, you will be part of a dynamic team working remotely from Portugal. You will engage with a mixed tech stack based on a microservices architecture, entirely on Amazon Web Services, utilizing open source libraries like React and Next.js. Your role will involve solving scalable problems and optimizing solutions to enhance user experience in one of the fastest-growing marketplaces: Real Estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Scalable Solutions: Develop and maintain products with billions of page views per month, used by people globally.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Solve technical challenges with engineers from other European offices, accelerating your impact by delivering for millions of customers.
- End-to-End Development: Own the development process, participate in product design discussions, write and review code, and assure quality and strategy for development.
- Advocate for Quality: Focus on product quality, security, and performance improvements that impact your team and others.
- DevOps Mentality: Contribute to the EU engineering community through our guilds and promote the discovery process by accessing the research panel.
- Mentorship: Mentor other engineers and improve standards, tooling, and processes.
What We Are Looking For
- Critical Mindset: Ability to contribute to achieving team goals.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts in English to different disciplines.
- Collaboration: Work with others and collaborate on technical decisions.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience building JavaScript apps, with knowledge of React and Redux.
- Front End Expertise: Experience with large-scale web applications and a focus on performance (server-side and client-side).
- CI/CD Practices: Familiarity with AWS, RESTful APIs, and knowledge of GraphQL is welcome.
