Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Windows Silicon & Systems Integration team (WSSI) in Austin, Texas. This role is pivotal in creating software drivers and services that enable new AI experiences on next-generation hardware products. These experiences will redefine how computers and devices perceive users and their environments, focusing on audio, camera, and sensor scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions for the architecture of Graphics and AI user-mode and kernel-mode drivers.
• Produce extensible, maintainable, and efficient code, setting an example for the team.
• Review code from other team members to ensure it meets Microsoft’s quality standards.
• Analyze and fix performance bottlenecks using available tools.
• Develop a realistic work schedule for areas of ownership and provide regular status updates to leadership and dependent teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• 2+ years of experience developing drivers for Windows, Linux, RTOS, or similar systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience in software architecture and design.
• Strong OS fundamentals and system-level power and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with ML and graphics APIs such as DirectML, DirectX, Vulkan, or OpenGL.
• Experience with workload tracing tools like GPUView and performance analysis tools such as ARM Development Studio and Snapdragon Profiler.
