Job Overview
Join Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer on the Windows Cloud Streaming and Graphics Team. We are at the forefront of developing a cutting-edge spatial and immersive cloud computing platform to enable Mixed Reality (MR) applications and experiences. Our team is leveraging the power of Azure to deliver stunning experiences on even the smallest, lowest-powered devices. We focus on low-latency streaming, real-time graphics, network resiliency, and video codecs, bringing powerful cloud compute capabilities through products like Windows 365 and Holographic Remoting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Next-Gen Cloud Streaming Technology: Design and implement new tools and techniques to enhance the visual quality and responsiveness of cloud rendering for MR experiences.
- Collaborate with Diverse Teams: Work closely with peers in design, hardware, program management, and software development to ensure long-term success.
- End-to-End Software Development: Take ownership of engineering activities from ideation to delivery, including design, implementation, testing, maintenance, documentation, and delivery.
- Lead by Example: Solve complex technical problems and maintain high standards of craftsmanship in our products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in technical engineering with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Excellent C++ development and debugging skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment on a shared code base.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics and linear algebra.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive professional software development experience.
- Experience with developing, debugging, profiling, and optimizing code on various hardware platforms and operating systems, particularly mobile and low-power compute platforms.
- Experience with OS networking stacks, low-latency data transmission over wireless networks, and video codecs.
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in networking and video/audio.
