Role Overview
Our team is looking for a skilled Software Engineer who is enthusiastic about creating scalable, distributed, highly-available, and secure cloud services on the Microsoft AI Platform. We are developing solutions aimed at data scientists, IT administrators, and developers to enhance the experience of their customers with advanced AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer on our team, you will:
- Write concise and clean code with unit tests.
- Design and build scalable, high-performance services that are highly reliable.
- Work across teams in a large organization.
- Design and implement new features as well as add functionality to existing systems.
- Investigate pre-production and production issues, implement and deploy fixes.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (typically 24/7 for one week every 6-8 weeks).
- Develop and use automation to deploy and manage complex cloud services across multiple Azure cloud instances and regions.
- Define and develop standardized, repeatable, scalable solutions to guarantee quality.
- Drive initiatives to gather and examine data across various metrics (e.g., system health) to enhance product development for new features, improved reliability, or guide decisions in engineering products.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
- Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding and experience in development in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Experience in building large scale cloud services, distributed systems, or operating systems.
- Skilled in improving service operations or engineering fundamentals.
- Experienced in building and shipping production software or services.
- Familiar with developing applications hosted on top of Azure, AWS, or other similar cloud platforms.
- Demonstrated problem solving, collaboration, and debugging skills.
