Microsoft's Silicon and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is at the forefront of powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing software solutions that manage and optimize Microsoft's Cloud infrastructure. You will be part of a team that develops software for high throughput and multi-tenant services in the Azure cloud, with a strong emphasis on DevOps concepts and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement software solutions for SCHIE Cloud activities.
- Work on large-scale distributed services on an enterprise-scale cloud.
- Enable firmware deployment flows for existing and upcoming hardware product lines supported by Azure.
- Manage daily live site operations, monitoring, and implementing performance and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) fixes.
- Support various deployment methods, incident management, and fleet issues.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience.
- Experience in distributed cloud services and firmware.
- Experience in service engineering lifecycle and live site operation at internet scale.
- Skills in priority setting, analysis, communication, time management, scheduling, and multitasking.
- Experience working in DevOps for large-scale systems.

Salary
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is €117,200 - €229,200 per year, with a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, where the base pay range is €153,600 - €250,200 per year.
