Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Join Honeywell as a Senior Software Engineer, where you will be responsible for a variety of complex, high-level software engineering operations. You will use your advanced knowledge of software engineering disciplines, processes, and tools to complete and ensure compliance with various project subtasks. You will interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications and develop and define engineering processes. As a recognized subject matter expert in the field of Software Engineering, you will also mentor lower-level engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform requirements gathering, application & architecture design, implementation, development, coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and providing support throughout the application development process.
Regularly offer solutions to significant technical problems.
Apply expertise in software engineering principles, technologies, methods, tools, and processes to eliminate barriers to successful project completion.
Analyze existing information systems and applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
Participate in the evaluation and selection process for new application packages, as needed.
Define development guidelines and standards to be utilized in software development/integration, including developing custom integration solutions with major enhancements, interfaces, functions, and features.
Generate and may approve software documentation and perform requirements-based verification and validation testing of software to assure all requirements are met.

Qualifications

You Must Have

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other equivalent ABET accredited Engineering program.
6+ years of experience.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
United States Citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
