Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior API Software Engineer to join our Digital Technology team. This is a remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from home while contributing to the development of cutting-edge digital products. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining APIs and connectivity solutions that power our digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize Agile software methodology to plan, build, test, and deploy product features and functionality.
- Implement APIs and connectivity solutions across digital products.
- Write APIs and API contracts, ensuring they meet software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of software developers, QA engineers, designers, product managers, and DevOps engineers.
- Conduct data modeling, support data architecture decisions, and create queries for relational and transactional databases.
- Write well-documented and tested code, continuously improving it to meet development standards.
- Develop a deep understanding of data sources used for data modeling and collaborate with data owners to understand the business context.
Qualifications
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in building Microservices using Spring Boot, Maven, and Spring JPA.
- Proficiency in enabling Authentication using Oauth2 & Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Databricks, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with distributed scheduler frameworks and cloud environments like AWS and Azure.
- Experience using MS Dynamics/OData APIs and React/Next.js for UI development.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
Preferred
- Experience with cloud-native services and implementations.
- Understanding of SDLC from conception to delivery.
- Experience with application scalability and performance testing.
- Ability to communicate technical plans and challenges to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Experience in highly regulated industries or government solutions.
- Familiarity with industry-standard cybersecurity requirements.
- Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Containers, CI/CD Pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, PCF/OpenShift.

Salary
The salary range for this position is €90,000 to €187,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
