Openly is on a mission to rebuild the insurance experience by empowering independent agents to deliver outstanding service with speed and ease. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our core team and help build the backend for Openly's insurance platform.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop core systems and create APIs that power our best-in-class user experiences.
Build out internal tooling and APIs to streamline business and engineering processes.
Implement systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural goals.
Integrate with external services to manage payments, documents, and claims.
Integrate with data providers to source real-time information on hundreds of data points, including property characteristics and risk profiles.
Provide subject matter expertise, mentorship, and support to team members.
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to important operational decisions.
Engage in daily stand-ups, weekly 1:1's, and biweekly retrospectives.

Backend/Core: Go, Temporal, PostgreSQL
Frontend: VueJS, Webpack, Nuxt, Tailwind
Research/Data Science: R, ArcGIS, H2O, Python
Infrastructure: Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud Build, CloudSQL), managed with Terraform
Remote Work Tools: Slack, Zoom, Donut

Requirements

At least 4 years of professional experience developing backend web-stack applications.
Professional experience with Go.
Proven track record of improving business-critical systems in terms of stability, performance, and scalability.
Ability to deliver complete systems from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: €146,000 - €164,000 per year
