Join Microsoft as a Software Engineer II in Cloud Security
About the Role
The M365 Security team at Microsoft is seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our team focused on access control and protection solutions for Microsoft cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining services that manage secure and compliant access to Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. This is a critical role that contributes directly to Microsoft's mission of protecting customer data and privacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve Application Security: Design, implement, and build security solutions to enhance application security maturity at scale.
- Collaboration: Partner with product managers and security leaders to prioritize and address security maturity work across Microsoft 365 services.
- Prototyping and Guidance: Build prototypes and proof-of-concept code, providing secure design and implementation advice to engineering teams.
- Security Management: Lead the development of host-based agents and cloud-based services to enforce security policy and configuration for Azure-based PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS services.
- Security Assessment: Design, build, and maintain a cloud-scale data platform to enforce security policy and improve the security posture of Microsoft’s services.
- Access Control and Protection: Design, build, and maintain the technical stack for authentication, secret management, and access control, ensuring data privacy, audit, and compliance requirements are met.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience.
- Experience working in cybersecurity areas.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
