Software Engineer - Azure Customer Experience

Microsoft

Overview

Join the Azure Customer Experience (CXP) team at Microsoft, where our mission is to transform Microsoft Cloud customers into fans. We are a customer-obsessed, AI-curious team that thrives in an inclusive, collaborative global environment. Our deep engineering engagements with customers and teams across Microsoft help us analyze and amplify customer needs, driving the vision to improve Cloud quality, security, and reliability.

What We Do

We orchestrate deep engagements in areas like incident management, support, and enablement. We analyze and amplify those customer voices, both within our own team and across the Cloud + AI team, bringing the customer connection to the Quality vision for Azure. We innovate ways to scale what we learn across our customer base. Diversity and inclusion are central to who we are, how we work, and what we enable our customers to achieve.

Role

As a Software Engineer in the Azure Reliability team, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering organization dedicated to making Azure the safest and most reliable Cloud. You will work with Azure Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to improve reliability fundamentals via software engineering, preferring long-lasting platform improvements delivered as engineering projects over repetitive manual operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify user requirements, incorporating feedback and actionable metrics into future designs.
  • Contribute to product architecture, help create proposals, own solutions, and ensure security and compliance.
  • Assist in testing plans and automation features.
  • Implement code for products, services, or features with a focus on extensibility and maintainability.
  • Review code for quality, reliability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Execute project plans, break down work items, conduct experimentation, and support safe deployment of features.
  • Manage live service operations, act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) on call, integrate telemetry data, and contribute to data analysis for system health.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
