Position Overview
Leidos is seeking talented Software Engineer Co-ops for Fall 2024. This opportunity is based in Arlington, VA, and is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. The co-op offers a unique chance to be part of a team addressing challenges in Maritime Systems.
Responsibilities
- Participate in real testing as part of an integrated test team.
- Develop user interface and simulation software currently in use.
- Contribute to cybersecurity strategies.
- Engage in tasks such as developing algorithms, supporting autonomous vehicle design, performing model runs, benchmarking hardware performance, and tuning radar/optical systems.
- Analyze sea test data and potentially travel to integration or test facilities.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Must be at junior or senior class level with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in C++ and experience in a Linux environment.
- US citizenship and eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Availability for full-time co-op in Arlington, VA.
Desired Skills
- Experience in areas such as surface or underwater vehicles, game theory, cybersecurity, autonomy, environmental modeling, simulations, or communication protocols is beneficial but not required.
