Description
Leidos Spatial Solutions is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer Intern for the summer. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in various aspects of software development, including Quality Assurance, Development, and Security within the Aeronautical Production Systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Validation Testing: Write validation tests against existing GOTS code to ensure code integrity during Agile development. Familiarity with JEST is preferred.
- Software Integration: Modify existing GOTS code to integrate open source software solutions for display in web applications. This includes .NET application development within Redux and React frameworks, using various open source packages for visualization and data filtering.
- DevOps and Documentation: Document new and existing functionality within software version control repositories (GitLab) and utilize DevOps principles and tools (Jenkins) to deliver new features.
- Security Engineering: Participate in various cyber security aspects of the program under the Security Engineering team.
Basic Qualifications
- Coursework in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field.
- Experience in software development or software integration projects in service-oriented or virtualization environments.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript development frameworks, unit testing, continuous integration tools, and git version control.
- Proactive attitude with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills: ability to plan and prioritize work, attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AWS cloud formation templates, GitLab, and best practices.
- Experience with team collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
