About the Role
GitHub is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Copilot Extensibility Team. This role offers the opportunity to work on the platform and marketplace that expands Copilot's abilities, integrating a rich ecosystem of developer tools and services. You will collaborate with a distributed, diverse, and passionate team across GitHub and Microsoft, focusing on enhancing AI-powered capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical decision making and architecture.
- Design and implement scalable, reliable, and performant solutions for challenges like rate-limiting and request routing.
- Write, review, and maintain code primarily in Go.
- Mentor other engineers in technical and architectural decision making.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience building high traffic services at scale.
- 2+ years experience building and/or consuming REST-style APIs.
- Experience architecting highly available, high volume APIs.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and maintaining code in Go or Ruby on Rails.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with distributed systems at a global scale.
- Experience working with a remote, distributed team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest or prior experience in modern AI/machine learning technologies, Large Language Models, or similar.
- Passionate about fostering good API Design practices and processes.
