About the Role
GitHub is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build and secure the GitHub platform. This role involves maintaining, developing, testing, and deploying internal tooling to address safety, fraud, and abuse issues. You will work within the Platform Health team, whose mission is to ensure the safety of GitHub's platform through various security measures.
Responsibilities
- Writing and reviewing both front-end and back-end code.
- Documenting the systems you help build.
- Encouraging the technical growth of your peers.
- Working with your team to define and prioritize projects.
- Providing consultation to product teams on new products.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Ruby, Rails, Java, Flink, Python, Go, and C#.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Strong communication skills and experience in analytical fields.
- Experience in Trust and Safety or related areas is preferred.
