We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our Prediction team in Pittsburgh, PA. This team is pivotal in designing and building systems that enable autonomous vehicles to understand and predict the dynamics of their environment.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer II on the Prediction team, you will:
- Design and Implement Algorithms: Develop algorithms and models to predict the future behavior of traffic participants in real-time.
- Measure and Evaluate: Assess the statistical properties and quality of predictions, ensuring the system handles both nominal and out-of-distribution driving events safely.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and ensure designs stay within resource constraints.
- Improve Software Quality: Enhance software reliability through continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews.
What You Bring
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience. A Master's degree or PhD is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in C++ and Python, with strong software design skills. Experience in probabilistic inference, Bayesian inference, and machine learning for classification and regression.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Industry Experience: Experience in writing production-quality, performance-critical code and maintaining large codebases is desired.
