What You Will Do

• Develop software to empower the people driving organizations, with a focus on integrating AI/ML technologies, particularly large language models (LLMs).
• Collaborate with other engineers to build and own products across a modern tech stack, including NodeJS, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS.
• Design and implement systems to ensure high-quality outputs from non-deterministic AI/ML systems in production.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and evaluation systems for LLM-based applications.
• Assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues in existing applications, optimizing functionality and performance, especially for AI/ML components.
• Lead the implementation of complex projects, including those requiring cross-functional collaboration with product managers and other engineering teams.
• Contribute to our engineering practices, identifying and promoting improvements to enhance team output, particularly in AI/ML integration.

What You Will Bring

• Over 5 years of professional experience in writing and maintaining production-level applications, with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML technologies.
• Experience in writing full stack code in modern programming languages like Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Expertise in implementing and maintaining AI/ML systems in production environments.
• Familiarity with best practices for deploying and monitoring non-deterministic AI systems in production.
• Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to efficiently model data and write performant queries in relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• A passion for clean code, DRY patterns, and high-performance code, both in traditional software engineering and AI/ML contexts.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex AI/ML concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with TypeScript and React.
• Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience with cloud-based AI/ML services like AWS SageMaker, Google Cloud AI, or Azure Machine Learning.
• Experience with LLMs in production environments.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $121,500 - $199,500. This position is also eligible for incentive stock options, subject to the terms of Lattice’s applicable plans.
