About the Role
As a Software Engineer specializing in AI at Uplimit, you will be at the forefront of transforming the learning experience through cutting-edge technology. You will be responsible for building new user-facing features and designing foundational aspects of our AI-powered education platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects such as AI tutors and AI-augmented course creation, allowing you to rethink every element of the teaching and learning experience with AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Build and design new user-facing features and foundational aspects of the education platform.
- AI Integration: Work on projects involving AI and machine learning, such as AI tutors and AI-augmented course creation.
- End-to-End Ownership: Own features from conception to deployment, becoming an expert in various domains across the product, including payments, emails, student portals, live session experiences, chat and community, analytics, and developer tools.
- Process Improvement: Redefine best-in-class software development processes to build an opinionated product.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, customer success managers, and sales team members to create delightful experiences for students and instructors.
Required Skills and Experience
- AI/ML Product Development: Experience in building and shipping AI/ML products is required.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Python, or Java.
- Software Development Lifecycle: Expertise in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively across functions with customers, technical teams, and management.
Work Environment
- Location: Our office is located in San Mateo, California, where the engineering team collaborates a few times a week. We also consider remote work options for candidates based in the US or Canada.
