Join Roblox as a Software Engineer Intern
Roblox is seeking a passionate and talented Software Engineer Intern for our Community Apprenticeship program in Summer 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Lua-based systems and infrastructure that power the front-ends of the Roblox client and studio applications. As an intern, you will be part of a world-class team that is revolutionizing the entertainment industry and empowering millions of players worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and debug features in the Lua-based layers of the Roblox client and studio applications.
- Ship code to production and improve the Roblox ecosystem "from the inside."
- Collaborate with a team within our Creator or Engine groups that owns an important area of the Lua-based Roblox front-end stack.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Lua and experience building on Roblox.
- Passion for contributing to the Roblox development community.
- Excitement for building both Lua-based libraries, foundational layers, and user interfaces.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have no serious or recent moderation incidents.
Work Environment
This role is based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA, and follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office days on Monday and Friday.
Compensation
- Hourly Pay Range: $60—$62 USD
