As a Senior Software Engineer on our Virtual Economy team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and scaling the systems that power Robux, our virtual currency.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will report to our Senior Engineering Manager and collaborate with a talented team to ensure the reliability and scalability of Robux-related systems. These systems are vital for enabling developers to monetize their games, processing billions of transactions annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop backend services that scale to billions of products and transactions in a reliable, secure manner.
- Collaborate with product, data science, and design teams to refine strategy and requirements.
- Contribute to overall system design, gather feedback, and iterate where necessary.
- Build experiences for a global community of over 70 million daily active users.
- Learn from Senior and Principal engineers and help recruit future talent for the team.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience developing consumer-facing products.
- 2+ years of experience working on front-end platforms.
- Full-Stack industry experience.
- Experience contributing to architecture and implementation discussions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience.
- A data-driven mindset with a focus on providing quality metrics and monitoring.
- [Preferred] Experience working in the gaming industry or monetization platforms.
Work Environment
This role is based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA, with a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to be in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary Range: $189,110—$233,840 USD
