AI Research Intern at GE HealthCare

Overview

GE HealthCare is seeking a passionate AI Research Intern to join our innovative team. This role is ideal for PhD students who are actively engaged in AI/ML research and are eager to develop next-generation AI technologies that will significantly impact medicine and healthcare. As an intern, you will collaborate with top researchers and domain experts in AI for health, working on cutting-edge projects and preparing research publications for leading AI venues.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct research on key topics within our AI for medicine and healthcare research agenda.
Prepare and contribute to research publications.
Design new AI algorithms to identify predictive patterns by combining heterogeneous data assets to solve real-world medical and healthcare problems.
Implement deep learning, machine learning, and data mining algorithms on distributed platforms.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a PhD program in computer science or related fields.
Experience in areas such as Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, with publications in top AI conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, KDD, CVPR, EMNLP, ACL.
Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++).
In-depth experience with PyTorch.
Preferred: Extensive experience handling noisy real-world medical and patient data.

Eligibility Requirements

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may sponsor an employment visa if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
While GE HealthCare does not currently require U.S. employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, some customers have vaccination mandates that may apply to certain employees.
