If so, Wrike's ML Team is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join us in our mission to simplify our customers' lives by automating routine tasks and unlocking their creativity.

About the ML Team

Our team focuses on integrating AI technology into Wrike, with key areas including Search, Smart Suggestions, and leveraging large language models (LLMs) to process and generate work-related data. We are a diverse team of front-end and back-end engineers, QA specialists, data scientists, a product manager, a designer, and an engineering manager, with members based in both Prague and Cyprus.

Your Role and Impact

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Integrate AI-Based Functionality: Collaborate with other teams to bring AI-driven features from concept and design through to implementation and experimentation.
• Adapt and Scale Solutions: Ensure that the solutions developed are adaptable and scalable to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
• Productionize Data Science Prototypes: Transition our Data Scientists' experiments and prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Maintain Technical Excellence: Focus on building the right solutions with high technical quality, ensuring robust and reliable implementations.
• Contribute and Grow: Bring your unique expertise to the team, continuously learning new skills and helping others grow in their roles.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong Technical Skills: Extensive experience with Java, REST, SQL, and unit/integration testing frameworks.
• Relevant Experience: At least 7 years of experience in software development, or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience.
• Expertise in Storage Solutions: Proficiency with both relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis).
• Passion for Technology: A keen interest in new technologies and a desire to apply them in practical ways.
• Product Team Experience: Previous experience working within a product team.
• Advanced Communication Skills: Strong ability to articulate ideas and contribute effectively in team meetings in English.
• Self-Organized Team Player: Demonstrated proactiveness in improving technical foundations and delivery processes, with a clear understanding of the customer problems being solved, beyond just deploying code.

• Experience with Quick Experiments: Proven ability to work on and manage rapid experimentation.
• Leadership in Small Tracks: Capable of leading smaller project tracks or initiatives effectively.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to handle complex scopes, especially when running multiple experiments simultaneously.
