Join OpenPipe as a Founding Software Engineer (Backend) and become one of our first hires with a significant equity stake. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership over major features critical to our success, such as designing our on-premise deployment solution and refactoring our stack to enhance reliability and reduce latency for the tens of millions of requests we handle daily.
Responsibilities
- Build high-quality software using TypeScript and Python.
- Solve infrastructure and deployment challenges, ensuring our systems are well-architected and robust.
- Provide strong leadership and take ownership of projects across the stack.
- Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges to make our application more robust, highly-available, and performant.
- Design and specify new functionality in collaboration with customers and the rest of the team.
What We're Seeking
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript and Python.
- A strong understanding of systems architecture and best practices.
- Capable and excited about taking on a broad range of tasks.
- A proven self-starter able to identify needs and meet them. Experience as a former founder or founding engineer is especially valued.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
