Job Overview
The Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (BfR) is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to join our IT department in Berlin, Germany. As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for gathering requirements, designing, and implementing software solutions from concept to deployment. You will collaborate with scientific departments and external partners to deliver specialized software projects, often in an international context.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders to understand and document software requirements.
- Software Development: Design and develop web applications primarily using Java and TypeScript, with additional work in ColdFusion and Python.
- Project Management: Plan projects and coordinate with national and international stakeholders.
- DevOps Collaboration: Work closely with the administration team to set up test and production environments.
- Technical Evaluation: Assess and integrate existing components and technologies into development projects.
- Documentation: Create technical and end-user documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or C#.
- Experience with scripting languages such as ColdFusion, PHP, or Python.
- Strong SQL database skills.
- Familiarity with web application development and associated technologies.
- Basic understanding of IT security principles.
- Experience with version control systems like Git, Mercurial, or Subversion.
- Proficiency in using Linux systems via SSH.
- Excellent German language skills (Level C) and good English skills (min. Level B).
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Debian.
- Familiarity with frameworks like Spring Boot, Apache Struts, Vue.js, or ReactJS.
- Experience with build automation tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Experience with container solutions like Docker or Podman.
