About the Role

This Northeastern University Co-op position is part of the Verizon Campus Program, offering a 6-month rotation from January 13, 2025, to July 11, 2025. As a co-op, you will work full-time, contributing to high-impact projects from day one. This role is designed to immerse you in meaningful work that delivers tangible business impact.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of applications using technologies such as 5G, AR/VR, and computer vision.
• Engage in SaaS development and scripting.
• Work on back-end technologies like Express, Flask, and Ruby.
• Utilize development tools and languages such as .NET, C, C++, J2EE, Python, and Java.
• Contribute to enterprise development, including logging, monitoring, and rules engine.
• Develop front-end applications using React.js, Ember, and Vue.
• Analyze data processing and apply sharp analytical skills.
• Participate in mobile development for Android and iOS.
• Work with service APIs, including microservices, RESTful services, and web services.
• Engage in web development using various frameworks and operating systems like Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
• Apply software design, engineering, and evaluation methods.
• Follow development methods such as quality assurance, object-oriented programming, and secure software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a Northeastern University Bachelor’s degree program in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related major.
• Expected completion date between December 2025 and June 2026.
• Coursework or demonstrated experience in scripting and coding (e.g., Python, Java, React, NodeJS, NextJS, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong written and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Knowledge of mobile development (e.g., Android, iOS).
• Understanding of service API integration (e.g., Microservices, RESTful APIs, Web Services).
• Familiarity with web development frameworks, browsers, and embedded applications.
• Knowledge of QA automation tools and secure software development cycles.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of eight assigned office days per month, with the rest of the time working from home.
