Role Overview
As a Full Stack Software Engineer Intern at PayPal, you will be part of a vibrant community that thrives on innovation and collaboration. You will develop innovative solutions and high-quality products that touch millions of people every day. Our engineers solve complex technical problems in the world of connected payments across multiple business units, including PayPal, Braintree, Venmo, and Paydiant.
Key Responsibilities
- Code high-volume and scalable software with a focus on both front-end and back-end development.
- Create web applications using React/Node and back-end services using Java, ExpressJS/NodeJS, SQL, and REST APIs.
- Develop new user-facing experiences and partner closely with cross-functional teams in design, product, and other business units.
Basic Requirements
- Experience in building, breaking, and rebuilding software applications.
- Working knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX.
- Familiarity with Node.js applications, ReactJS, and ExpressJS.
- Understanding of concepts like Web Services, SOA, and REST APIs.
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things.
Internship Program Information
- This is a Summer 2025 Internship program.
- Must currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Must be returning to school in the Fall of 2025.
- Must reside in the U.S. during the Summer internship program.
- Must be able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S. for the summer.
Work Environment
PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
