About the Role
As a Fullstack Software Engineer in the Cards team at Airwallex, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing our international payments platform. This role involves working within a feature team to deliver business outcomes through the development of cloud-native, Kotlin-based microservices. These services are primarily exposed via GraphQL to a React frontend, with Kafka events/messaging forming a key part of the architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Build: Develop new capabilities to support our product roadmap, ensuring high-quality and tested solutions.
- Architectural Review: Participate in the architectural review of new and existing solutions to reduce tech debt and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across different time zones, particularly with teams in Melbourne, Australia.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: 0-3 years of professional experience in modern engineering practices with a focus on continuous integration and quality engineering.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field. A strong academic background is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, Spring/Spring Boot, and designing GraphQL APIs. Experience with high-volume distributed systems, Kafka event streams, and cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.
- Tools: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and operational tools such as New Relic, StatsD, Elk, Datadog, and Prometheus.
- Flexibility: Ability to coordinate with international teams and adapt to a hybrid working environment.
