Main Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Codebase: Create, enhance, and maintain a C++ based codebase used to deliver Zynga Slot games across various mobile and web platforms.
• Project Management: Handle complex projects broken down into smaller tasks with guidance from other engineers, and communicate any issues along the way.
• Problem Solving: Work with other engineers to identify problems and preferred solutions, improvements, and approaches to address them.
• Prototype Development: Take a hands-on approach in the development of prototypes, independently and with others, to establish design decisions and/or technical feasibility.
• Best Practices: Follow engineering best practices to ensure performance, reliability, and measurability at a massive scale.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with teammates, contributing to an innovative environment of technical excellence.
• Design Review: Review detailed designs from others, aligning with the team and Zynga-wide technical vision.
• Mentorship: Assist other engineers in their career progression and skill development.
• Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to Zynga’s culture of knowledge sharing with others on the team.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Technical Skills: Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented software design.
• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in mobile, desktop, or web application development, with one or more shipped products.
• Programming: Strong experience with C++.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with engineers and other disciplines in a team environment.

Bonus Skills

• Game Development: Prior game development experience on shipped titles or live games.
• Mobile Development: Experience with iOS and/or Android.
• Modern C++: Familiarity with C++ 11/14/17/20.
• Related Technologies: Familiarity with Xcode, GIT, Cocos2d-x, Objective-C, iPhone SDK, Android SDK/NDK, Emscripten, WebGL, and JavaScript.
