About Cantina
Cantina is pioneering the social AI platform space with its advanced AI character creator, allowing users to build, share, and interact with AI bots and friends in innovative ways. The platform's bots are designed to be lifelike and capable of seamless interaction across various digital mediums, offering a new type of media for creators.
The Role
As a Senior Media Software Engineer, you will be integral to the development of Cantina's real-time and streaming media capabilities. You will work on enhancing the media platform, adding new features, and improving the infrastructure that supports real-time interactions in the Cantina app. This role involves owning multiple product areas, shaping product directions, prototyping new concepts, and overseeing design through to implementation.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and extend the Cantina media platform.
- Add new features to enable dynamic interactions through voice and video.
- Maintain and improve WebRTC-based frameworks for iOS, Android, and web clients.
- Analyze system performance and user behavior metrics.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Collaborate with application development teams to define APIs for media integration.
Candidate Profile
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with C or C++ programming.
- Strong understanding of data structures and concurrent programming.
- Familiarity with system programming, including networking and memory management.
- Interest in tackling complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI and ML techniques, especially in speech and synthesis.
- Previous work with WebRTC, streaming protocols, or other media technologies.
- Knowledge of audio and video processing algorithms.
- Software development experience for iOS and Android platforms.
- Experience with Node.js.
Location
While we offer remote and hybrid work options, there is a strong preference for candidates who can work in the Bay Area, as most of the Media Engineering team is based there.
