Job Description
As the Head of Web Application Development at ecosio, you will lead and develop a team of 10-15 mid-to-senior level web application developers, including DevOps and Developer Experience roles. Your responsibilities will include driving the personal development of team members, establishing KPIs for process improvements, and conducting interviews for future talents.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead and develop a team of web application developers.
- Drive personal development and training for team members.
- Establish KPIs to improve process transparency and team productivity.
- Conduct technical interviews and train the team in interview techniques.
Architecture and Technology
- Drive technological and architectural decisions for web applications.
- Establish architectural guidelines and best practices.
- Contribute to observability, monitoring, and alerting efforts.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and coordinate penetration tests.
- Plan and coordinate product development with product owners and UX designers using Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
Hands-on Development
- Actively participate in software development to understand ecosio's applications and challenges.
- Conduct code reviews and make technical contributions to product architecture.
- Solve bugs and deliver small features.
Tech Stack
- Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD
- Java Frameworks: Spring, SpringBoot, Apache Camel
- Java Libraries: JUnit
- TypeScript/JavaScript Libraries: React, Material UI, Semantic UI, React Final Form, TanStack Query, React Testing Library, Cypress
- Data Storage and Querying: MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, software development, or similar.
- 7+ years of work and leadership experience in a software development team.
- Profound knowledge in Java and web development with JavaScript.
- Excellent English skills, German is a plus.
- Passion for mentoring, coaching, and knowledge transfer.
- Ability to motivate a team and foster self-management.
- Solution-oriented mindset with outstanding brokering skills.
