Motius is a dynamic R&D company that specializes in solving challenges with emerging technologies to create long-lasting value for our clients. We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to exciting R&D projects using cutting-edge technologies.
Your Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will:
- Be part of engineering teams consisting of 2-5 people, working on R&D projects.
- Build complex, production-ready systems and digital solutions for a wide range of industries and use cases.
- Define the right tech stack and set up the architecture for projects, following a two-weekly Scrum process using tools like GitLab, Jira, and Slack.
- Mentor and coach engineers on backend, architecture, and cloud topics to ensure high-quality product development.
- Constantly improve our backend cluster by introducing new tools, best practices, or frameworks and sharing learnings from our projects.
Your Profile
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Proven experience in agile development projects.
- Deep knowledge in developing and testing with tech stacks such as Python (Django, FastAPI) or JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js).
- Experience with Graph Databases (e.g., Neo4J) and GraphQL, cloud solutions like AWS, and an interest in DevOps processes and infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab pipelines).
- Experience in engineering and architectural practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, and continuous integration.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes common in early-stage product development.
- Strong command of English; German is a plus.

Location
This position is based in the Greater Munich Metropolitan Area, with a hybrid work model allowing for both on-site and remote work.
