Samsung AI Research Center (SAIC) in Mountain View, California, is seeking talented research interns for the Vision Intelligence lab. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in long-term research with the potential to impact future Samsung products used by millions worldwide. Our focus is on advancing the state-of-the-art in multimodal understanding, generation, editing, long-term planning, and tool use.

Position Summary

As an intern, you will collaborate with researchers on ongoing projects involving multimodal (image, video, 3D, text) understanding, generation, and editing. This role is ideal for students pursuing a Master's or PhD degree who are passionate about computer vision and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and Presentation: Read and present research papers in reading groups.
• Data Pipeline Development: Build a synthetic data creation pipeline.
• Programming: Write code for distributed and low-rank adaptation training in Python and PyTorch.
• Evaluation Techniques: Implement automated evaluation techniques using foundational models as judges.
• Experimentation: Execute experiments, document progress, and present insights.

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing a MS or PhD degree.
• Proficiency in programming with Python.
• Ability to read research papers and identify strengths and weaknesses.
• Previous submissions or publications in top-tier conferences and journals in CV/ML/AI such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICML, NeurIPS, AAAI.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay rate range for this role is $44—$63 USD, depending on factors such as role function, location, and individual knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.

Additional Information

This position will be performed in an office setting. The role requires the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
