Job Description
Samsung Research America (SRA) is seeking a Fall Intern for Speech Research to join our team in Mountain View, California. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects related to Bixby, Samsung's next-generation virtual personal assistant. As an intern, you will be involved in advanced research in Automatic Speech Recognition, Acoustic and Language Modeling, and wake-up word detection.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in Automatic Speech Recognition, focusing on Acoustic and Language Modeling and personalization.
- Develop and implement deep learning and digital signal processing (DSP) modules.
- Work on wake-up word detection, including feature extraction and modeling.
- Support projects related to voice recognition, language recognition, and speech enhancement.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Deep Learning and Machine Learning techniques.
- Proficiency in Digital Signal Processing.
- Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
Work Environment
This position is hybrid, requiring both on-site and off-site work. The intern will work in an office setting, involving desk work, communication in person and by telephone, and frequent use of standard office equipment.
Compensation
The hourly pay rate for this internship ranges from $48 to $63, depending on experience and location. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits.
