Job Description
Join Samsung Research America as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern in the Immersive Experience (IMEX) team. We are at the forefront of developing next-generation Augmented Reality and Machine Learning platforms for AREmoji and other 3D characters. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to Samsung's innovative projects.
Position Responsibilities
- Research and Development: Read and implement research papers into code, focusing on developing and fine-tuning models.
- Collaboration: Work on research initiatives related to Samsung’s AREmoji 3D characters, pushing the boundaries of Generative AI technology.
- Testing and Evaluation: Test and evaluate machine learning models on the latest Galaxy devices.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
- Expected to complete the degree by July 2025 for PhD candidates or 2024 for MS candidates.
- Hands-on experience with ML/DL frameworks like TensorFlow/Keras or PyTorch.
- Excellent programming skills in Python.
- Expertise with data handling Python libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib.
- Strong command of algorithms and data structures.
- Experience in computer vision, particularly in face tracking and landmark detection, is a plus.
- Proficiency in LLMs and familiarity with recent developments in the field is a plus.
Compensation
- Hourly Pay Rate: $44—$63 USD

- This position will be performed in an office setting, requiring the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment.
